INTRODUCTION
The University Authority was desirous that academic programmes proposed for the School of Management Technology should begin in the 2003/2004 academic session;hence the committee for the commencement of the School of Management Technology was inaugurated.
The Committee held several development Committee at its meeting held in December, 2004 meetings in 2003/2004 to revise the proposed academic programmes,taking into cognizance the observation and suggestions it had received from the Senate.The Committee sent a revised set of recommendations for the consideration of Senate.
The Department at its 148th statutory meeting held on 18th December, 2004. Senate considered recommendations of the Committee of School of Management Technology
The following four Departments were proposed for consideration:
Among the NUC requirements for courses in universities of Technology is that such courses must meet 50 percent (50%) technology content in the course content and the course must all meet the NUCs Approved Minimum Academic Standard in the field of study.
The Library Management Technology Couses being proposed has fufilled the NUCs requirement for 50% Technology content and the Minimum Academic Standards.
